Damp and Cold this Weekend

Damp and Cold this weekend - Although the heavy rain and wind has subsided... we expect another storm on Monday. We need it! Stayed indoors all weekend, gathering tax information. Kristens baby will be here soon so waiting to hear. Last weekend we had a great visit with long time friends and former neighbors Claire and Jennifer. Was so great to catch up and reminese about the old days on Serena! She came up from Arizona for Lloyds Memorial Service in Santa Rosa. He will be missed and so adored her. Mom , Claire, Jen and I had a great afternoon ... the ladies kept accusing Jen and I of whispering... we really weren't! They just didn't want to miss a thing. We had a lot of laughs!

Happy New Year 2010

Can't believe it was a year ago when we were all sitting here thinking we were close to the end of Mom's days.. but she didn't and it must be her positive attitude that got her through last year. And what a great year it has been. So many visitors and well wishes. Life is short and we are now so aware and making every minute count. Monday she had a great check up at the Dr. - Good Blood work. Dr. couldn't seem to find the tumor in her belly so suspect the chemo shrunk it and it does not seem to be growing back... I would call that remission! Yeah!
I devoted all of 2009 to staying so very close to mom and watching over her, and I hate to say I have negected my own health so 2010 I hope to find a happy medium, and will work to care for all of us in 2010. At least that is the resolution. I have set a June goal for myself - a trip to Greece and Athens with some high school friends. Mitch got me a Wii Fit+ for Xmas and we have all been using it, pretty faithfully each night.
Mitch off to Camp Mather to volunteer this weekend - a controlled burn in the area and they asked him to come up since he was trained in the fire prevention 2 years ago, when they had all the fires in the area. Mom and I home this weekend. Claire R. and Jenny coming over tomorrow for a visit. Don't have a new picture for this post but here is Jones. He sure loves his big backyard down in YLP and loved to romp with all the neighbor hood dogs and his girlfriend Bailey... here he is on the lookout for her!
Jones and I had a good walk/run down to the school today. So will keep up the fitness routine. Looks like rain tomorrow ... so will work out on the Wii.
