Happy Father's Day - to all the great Dads!

You know who you are... but we spent Sunday missing a few good one's. Here is Etta and Kathy who just flew in from New Jersey for the Week - enjoy your stay. Those shades are not becuase of the "sun in Pacifica" - they are just protecting the eyes from the "glare thru the fog". We are so glad you were able to squeeze in a short visit and get caught up. Look at mom's tee shirt - "Sexy" and her hot pink hooded leopard skin velvet jacket.... She still does keep us chuckling.

Here she is walking over to Ashley's graduation party Saturday. Congrats to Ashley for getting her BA at Univ of Santa Cruz. What a wonderful party - always a good time with the neighbors!

Mom sat for 1/2 hour and then headed back home for an afternoon nap as her back was hurting. Her blood tests came back and everything looks good! Yippee.

We had a great phone call from Mitch on Friday - he is enjoying the work at Camp Mather and settling in after two weeks. Forgot a couple of thing, so we sent him a care package on Saturday and it should arrive Early next week.

Dr. Appointment today...

Her blood pressure was up... her weight is going up.... her pain levels are going up.... and as always, her spirit is still up!. I think she has a secret crush on Dr. Strauss. She had some blood work done and Dr. will call in a couple of days with report. He has decided to perscribe a time release morphine pill to help regulate her discomfort throughout the day. We will still have the liquid morphine for evenings and emergencies. She is missing Mitchell so much and speaks of him often (as do I). Dr. said she can cutback on the Ensure since she is eating better these days... I will substitute low fat chocolate milk, maybe she won't notice. I could re-fill the old Ensure bottles... I'm so sneaky! She liked to drink on with her meal (instead of as a meal substitute) and now she has a habit! She got a call from Max today and remembered a couple of hours later.... "I think I got a call from Max today!" - Yes you did! Tomorrow Cindy and Joe come for a visit - won't let them get away without a picture for the blog... and here it is...that is Joe's son Michael with them.

Skunked

Well last week, Jones got skunked... playing with the midnight critters in the back yard. The ever faithful watchdog is not banished to an insider spectator sport. He is a great companion. We had a grand time washing out linens and airing out the house.

Mitch called in from Camp Mather - he got Friday off and took a trip down to the YLP house with some of his coworker/friends.

Heather and Matt came up our way this weekend for a wedding on Sunday but spent Saturday afternoon and evening with Grams. Matt and I took a quick run to Best Buy and almost bot a new HDTV but they were out of stock, we settled for a WII and entertained ourselves with bowling, tennis and boxing in the evening after our Kenny Chinese Dinner. I did enlist Matt and Heathers help in moving some items to the storage shed and rearranging the living room but Matt was unable to fix the printer. So the list of broken items around the house is mounting...dishwasher, printer, one burner on the stove and the oven thermostate.... Hope we can hold out till Christmas! Or get it all done at once if I can get a big push.

Mom has a Dr. appointment on Wed - will have to reorder some of her pain meds as she is getting low and using more frequently. Thursday Cindy and Joe will stop by for a visit, they are in town for grandson's 8th grade graduation. Thanks for the call this week Melinda. I sat mom down on the computer to view the Gavin and Faith show - fun to watch them grow. We heard from Nancy too, so nice to catch up with you both. Bonnie has a birthday coming up - Happy Birthday to you!.
