It's been pretty quiet and low key last couple of weeks. Mom is sleeping long hours from late afternoon to morning most days. Still has a good appetite in the mornings and enjoys her fruits and fluids in the afternoons. Here blood pressure is down and we still have weekly hospice nurse visits. Connie our good neighbor continues to deliver a coffee and morning newspaper and checks in on her in the afternoons . Here she is with her daughter Susan.

I took mom for a short ride and tour of Candi's house project. "Rebuilding Together" thru the efforts of charitable volunteers who devote their time and efforts accepted Candi's application to Paint her house, put up outside rails, lights and landscape. This charitable organization helps those people in need and have been working on her house for several weekends. Gary, Mitchell and I did a huge cleanout for her in September so she could stay in her home ... it takes a village. Hopefully she will be able to maintain it,keep it uncluttered and live there safely.

Easter Sunday

Well it has been a big week. Last Saturday we headed down to Kristen and Jason's wedding - it was beautiful and we are waiting to get some better pictures uploaded since our camera ran out of batteries right after Gary walked Kristen down the isle... (a rookie mistake I know!). Mom found the most comfortable cozy chair at the reception and the event went on around her. She lasted until the dancing got wild!. Home on Sunday. Michael and his friend Stephanie stayed overnight in Pacifica with us on Sunday night and we took her to the airport on Monday... Michael sat and watched tv and movies with Grandma all day Monday and was happy just to relax. He headed home to Laramie on Tuesday and told Grandma he would see her on Thanksgiving. Wed we had a visit from Hospice and Gary, mom and I got to sit and talk a bit with Cathrine. Gary and Joanna came in on Wed after a couple of nights on the central pacific coast and a night in Sausalito, they headed home in late afternoon after taking care of a few obligations for Candi. Thursday Mom and I had an appointment with Dr. Strauss. Her weight is stable and her blood presure is down... no need for pills, cept her pain pill which she takes occasionally. But no other complaints - what a trooper! I did a lot of spring cleaning in between visitors and mom's naps ... took two large bags of 3x clothes to the goodwill and made some room in mom's closet. It was great just to be home and spend time with her and not have to juggle schedules, chores and appointments around the work schedule. We need to just relax and rejuvenate. Mitch and Medody baked cakes on Friday night to take to the SF State Pow Wow on Saturday. Easter Sunday will be quiet... got the smallest ham I could find and will have an early afternoon meal.

Headin' to a Weddin'

Getting set to head down to Coarsegold for Kristen's wedding to Jason Kerns - Colleen to have a new grandson-in-law by Saturday night. She has a couple of new outfits and is really looking forward to being with all the family.

And we have a new roomate... When Mitch's friend Melody (aka Olive) found herself in need of a place to stay for awhile, mom, of course, said "she can stay here" so out to the parlor she went... We had a quick Saturday clean out and a dozen plastic bins later ( to store all of CC's treasures) we turned the room into a cozy spot for Olive. Mom spent Monday with her eye glued to the parlor door waiting for Melody to come out - said "she's been in there all day" but I assured her Melody had left for school/work long before mom awoke... how to keep an 87 year old busy, Ha!. Melody will be good company for us all and will stay home with Jones this weekend "he makes me feel safe".

I will be on vacation all next week so plans are to clean out all of CC's size 3X clothes, she will never see that size again and I refuse to go there - lord help me!. Gary and Joanna coming up next mid week as they have time off as well. They will recoop from the big wedding and spend some quality time with mom and help out Candi with a few things. Mom has a Dr. appointment next Wed a.m. also. So call for an update or I'll blog later. Stay tune for pics of the bride and groom.
